Being the CEO of Caring for Mom

It was an emotional week last week. For many months, I’ve been going to Mom’s house twice a day to be sure she takes her meds, prepare some meals, do laundry, dishes or minor housekeeping. I also take her to all her doctor appointments, grocery shopping and out to lunch to get her out of the house.

3 Ways Journaling Can Boost Your Creativity and Biz

I have a friend who has struggled with her creativity for a long time. She’s extremely uncomfortable thinking of herself as “creative.” We’ve been working together on it and making progress. One of the tools that’s really helped her has been journaling.

From Julia Cameron’s The Artist Way to Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones to Linda Trichter Metcalf, Ph.D. and Tobin Simon, Ph.D.’s Writing the Mind Alive to numerous other publications, journaling has enjoyed a long history of creative nurturing along with a host of other benefits.

Overwhelmed or Inspired?

It seems to be spreading. An “epidemic of overwhelm”.  Most people I talk to are overwhelmed with the many responsibilities of their work and personal life.

In addition to that, there is a tremendous amount of information coming at us from the radio, internet, emails, Facebook and television; bombarding us with things that we must do, must have and must accomplish. We are committing to doing too much and finding that we simply don’t have the time or energy to accomplish everything.
