I recently attended Suzanne Evans’ blockbuster annual event called, Be The Change in Orlando, FL. Here’s a recap for those of you who couldn’t be there.
Main take-aways:
- Get real or go home
- Don’t be caught in your ordinary story, make a decision to be extraordinary
- The key to success in business is to take Hell Yeah action now and do whatever it takes
It was an emotional week last week. For many months, I’ve been going to Mom’s house twice a day to be sure she takes her meds, prepare some meals, do laundry, dishes or minor housekeeping. I also take her to all her doctor appointments, grocery shopping and out to lunch to get her out of the house.
I have a friend who has struggled with her creativity for a long time. She’s extremely uncomfortable thinking of herself as “creative.” We’ve been working together on it and making progress. One of the tools that’s really helped her has been journaling.
In the almost twenty years I’ve been working from home, I’ve had nine home offices. Moving my home office so many times gave me insight into the benefits and disadvantages of using certain rooms to work.
Anything worthwhile is going to take strength and determination on your part!
When you start a new business or take action on a big idea that you’ve had brewing for a while, it can be a very exciting time. You begin to get a taste of what entrepreneurship can feel like; you’re in control of your own schedule, maybe you worked for someone else and you’ve escaped the rigid 9-5 routine and you’ve become your own boss – life feels good.
Changing your life is possible. It only requires a few key ingredients: a plan, patience, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. If you’ve really struggled with life, it can be helpful to start small. Achieving a few small successes will give you the confidence to move forward with larger changes.
It seems to be spreading. An “epidemic of overwhelm”. Most people I talk to are overwhelmed with the many responsibilities of their work and personal life.
Divorce is seldom easy for anyone involved. Still, there are steps you can take now that may make the process less stressful and help simplify your life when the divorce is finalized. The more you know about the divorce process and your legal and financial options, the better equipped you will be to pursue your goals and protect your best interests. The information included here can help you start to think through key issues. Remember, though, that a competent attorney is essential, and a knowledgeable Financial Advisor can help you deal with the intricacies of planning, both for short term realities and long term possibilities.
Ever wonder how professional athletes get ready for their big day? Whether it’s a marathon, boxing match, or weight lifting competition, competitors find that using visualization can be extremely helpful in reaching their goals. I know coaches who work with athletes and have them envisioning crossing the finish line first or perhaps knocking out their opponent. Whatever goal it may be, in or out of the fitness realm, visualization is a wonderful tool!
